"underneath it all" ..no doubt..
today i went to a fob picnic...lots of food so my stomach was happy...little kids flying kites...man that brought some memories back...i ended grabbing a kite and showing them how to fly that bad boy...man i want to buy a kite now... at night we went to a viewing...some relatives and cousins from milpitas were down so it was good to see them... then later on we hit up the club...angelo had the hook up so we got in for free...the club was ahrite until about 1...when we looked around everybody just disappeared...we all ended eating at in-n-out afterwards so it was all good... 7.26.2002
"pts.of.athrty" ..linkin park..
me jerome and chris went downtown to get some food and drinks...our first stop was rock bottom but the wait was 1+ hour...we ended up going to hooters instead...jerome ordered some new castle and with just a sip i had a response...my body remembered why I HATE BEER...after killing the hot wings i was still hungry...we walked around a bit and ended up going to fat burger...those burgers definitely hit the spot... 7.25.2002
"falling" ..ben kweller..
yesterday: me rick rod and chris went to the beautiful city of cerritos...the only bummer about the mini road trip was that we had no tunes blasting...ive misplaced my face plate and i cant find it at all (the last time i remember having it was after the smokin' grooves tour)...after spending the afternoon checking out the mall and hanging with the younger cousins, we headed to santa monica to visit some of our older cousins...they have this fat apartment near the la brea tarpits...when we got there we were all hungry so they took us to roscoe's (famous for their chicken and waffles)...you've never tasted chicken or waffles until you have eaten there...they're pieces of heaven i tell you... today: after an hour of class i dipped out (ive basically skipped a week of summer school which translates to 2 weeks worth of work, bad bad ryan)...the reason was that i didnt want to miss the ben kweller and convoy concert at the epicentre...ben kweller is pretty darn talented...he played the guitar and then switched to the piano during the set...convoy topped off the night and they just rocked the house...convoy is amazing, go out pick up their cd and catch them live at venue near you... 7.23.2002
"armageddon" ..alkaline trio..
yesterday: we picked up my cousin rod from the airport...floridians left and right are coming to my house...when we got home we all watched the new m. night shyamalan movie, SIGNS...yeah i know it doesnt come out for another week but i had the bootleg hookup... today: me and my cousins went to UTC to do some shopping...at night we all went out to this japanese seafood and buffet place in downtown called momo's...mad sushi, crab legs, lobster, oysters and everything else...not only was the food good but our server was so hot...she could be a model...man, it was too good to believe... 7.21.2002
"skew it on the bar-b" ..outkast..
the concert last night was incredible...let me tell you a little story...me rick chris angelo and ann get to the concert right when it starts...cee-lo is performing but we were all hungry and didnt mind missing his performance...after getting our fill, we find our seats in the back of the amphitheatre on the grass...truth hurts begins performing and when we find a nice spot, we bump into rick's friends...they then tell us that my sister and her friends are in the 3rd row because some guy gave them tickets...i was just stunned when i heard this...then some of rick's friends decided to look for the guy to see if he had anymore tickets...after a few minutes they come back with some tickets and we were able to move up a couple sections (3rd row seats were 4 more sections in front of us but it was way better than being in the very back)... everybody was stoked and excited that we moved up such a huge amount...jurassic 5 began their set and i could see my sister and friends having a grand ole time...i have to say that i was jealous, because there is nothing like experiencing a concert up close and personal...half-way through the set one of ricks friends comes up to me and rick and says that my sis and her friends want to sneak us into the 3rd row...we get our hands on a few of their tickets and then we walk to the 3rd row... the 4th row had open seats so we just sat there (dead center with an amazing view)...everybody up front was just groovin' and the concert was just enhanced instantly...lauryn hill performed next, just her and her classical guitar...if you havent heard her unplugged cd yet, go get it already...next up were the roots...amazing performers and live band...a must for any hip-hop heads and anybody who loves a good rockin band...to top it all, outkast performed last...they put out every hit and had the crowd going nuts...they definitely know how to work the crowd and put on a great show...smokin' grooves, go catch it while you can... |
