"microphone mathmatics (remix)" ..peanut butter wolf..

last night i went to 4th and B for the stones throw tour...madlib and peanut butter wolf were the highlight performers of the night...madlib had a set full of strong, heavy beats...madlib was okay as a performer, but i prefer him as a producer...peanut butter wolf did a set of mixing with strictly 45's...stones throw, look out for this label...

"ring of fire" ..johnny cash..

HUGE fire in san diego...it been going on all day long...1000's of acres...homes lost...freeways closed...its slowly spreading and getting closer...i really hope we dont have to evacuate...

"clarity" ..john mayer..

i was in a car accident this morning on my way to school...it was a collision chain involving 5 cars including my own...some lady in a mini-van slammed into a lexus suv which then smashed into me...i hit a volkswagon which then hit a nissan truck...NOT a great way to start the day...no major injuries but my neck and back muscles were tight afterwards...the bumper of my car is smashed in a bit and i can't close my trunk anymore...i went to the emergency room to get checked up and the doctor said i was okay but i would be hurting for the next week or so...he prescribed some pain meds and i was on my way...

"thelonius" ..common..

the highlight of this weekend would have to be friday night...i went to fall fest 2003 at ucsd...pharcyde started the night...they performed most cuts from their more recent albums (testing the waters and plain rap) with a few old school ones in there too...they were not as great as i wanted them to be because they were minus 2 members, one of them being fatlip...midtown was up next and they didn't move me at all...their sound just doesn't grab me...finally common and dj dummy took stage and rocked the night...every time i see common he puts on a great show and he gets the crowd involved...he mostly did tracks from "like water for chocolate" which was surprising...he didn't have his band backing him so that may one of the factors why he didn't do more cuts from "electric circus"...free concerts at ucsd, you can't beat them...

"sweetest goodbye" ..maroon 5..

i saw maroon 5 at the house of blues on sunset...marc broussard opened the show, he sucked but everyone else thought he was good...gavin degraw was much better but everyone else didn't think so...what the hell is going on?....geri and i were surrounded by giants for the 2 first acts...we managed to get out of that circle before maroon 5 took stage and rocked the night away...they performed tracks mostly from their (solid kick ass) album but they also threw some new songs in there and they did a couple covers...go check these guys out, you will not be disappointed...

"am i missing" ..dashboard confessional..

geri and i went to the dashboard confessional show at the sdsu open air theatre...we had tickets for the pit, yet there was no pit...there were seats in the pit area...apparently you had to have a special bracelet to sit there (which they gave out earlier and ran out of) so then we had to sit in the next section up...the seats were not bad at all, its just i really wanted a true pit...damn open air theatres and their seats in the very front (this is the second time this has happened to me)...

vendetta red opened up the show and they were okay...brand new was next and they were pretty good, mxpx played a different set from the past times ive seen them but they always have a good show...dashboard confessional just rocked...if you ever get the chance to see them, go do it...they played past favorites as well as many of the new tracks...what an amazing show...
